What it actually checks

Every page it can reach, then the language of each one — not from your menu or your flags, from the words actually on the page.
Whether a French version really exists. Most checkers stop at /fr returning a 200. This one opens the French page and reads it. A /fr that quietly redirects to your English homepage gets flagged, because to a visitor in Montreal that page does not exist.
What it would cost you first. Job postings, product pages and terms carry more weight than a blog post, so they come back at the top of the list.
